Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Government Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This position can be fully remote or onsite/hybrid in Washington D.C. with possible travel to HQ in Holland, MI.

As a Government Inside Sales Representative, you will:

Lead and grow sales efforts in the local, state, and federal government segments. Collaborates with sales team and channel partners to develop strategic sales plan and outreach strategy. Develops and maintains strong business relationships with government customers to develop business. Prospects (via phone/video) with government agency contacts (contracting officers, procurement, and agency designers) to learn of new opportunities, share information, and promote Haworth’s value proposition.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years experience in sales, inside sales or customer service role.
  • 1 year Government sales experience required.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Experience in office furniture or closely related industry preferred.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Basic understanding of how the government operates, including procurement policies and procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills and follow through to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Strong networking, lead generation, pipeline management, sales strategy, and business development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analysis, data gathering, prioritization and project management skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to and embrace change and learn quickly.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong technology skills with ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, and CRM.
