Senior Account Executive

What can you expect?

As a Senior Account Executive, you’ll play a pivotal role in our Corporate Sport team, collaborating closely with our Managing Principal as well as the National Manager, Corporate Sport, and other key Account Executives.

  • You will be working on a portfolio of medium to large high profile national sport accounts, each offering the challenge of unique sporting industry risks. You will have the responsibility to deliver exceptional customer service and manage an extensive range of stakeholders, acting as the clients trusted risk advisor.
  • You are expected to work seamlessly as a member of the servicing team and build trusted relationships with clients and insurance markets, manage a raft of diverse tasks and project manage large renewals simultaneously, implementing Marsh’s Client First Principles framework across the portfolio.
  • You will also provide support and develop team members including Account Executives and any support staff through clear and effective communication, delegation, and delivery of our business standards.

We will count on you to:

  • Provide support to the Managing Principal on large complex sport accounts as well as manage medium sized related business.
  • Develop and maintain effective long-term relationships with key client decision makers and frequently monitor client specific and sporting industry trends and changes to ensure our advice and services remain at the forefront.
  • Take a pro-active approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery to clients, ensuring client needs are identified and met in line with agreed service standards.
  • Manage internal stakeholders in delivering ‘all of Marsh’ to your client base including leveraging local and international placement and Marsh McLennan sports experts for the betterment of the client.
  • Develop tailored renewal and placement strategies in conjunction with Placement and Advisory Leaders, producing best in class submissions to local and international markets.
  • Support senior colleagues with analysis of both client information and market quotes through research and accurate document preparation.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all major classes of insurance which Marsh offers to its clients and keep abreast of all new technical and product developments.
  • Maintain an awareness of all large and potentially complicated claim related matters and assist claims personnel in the advocacy of equitable claim settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Attend and participate in industry events, sporting events and conferences, and client functions to build up a strong professional network.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Fire Services Levy, Stamp Duties, Worker's Compensation, and other relevant legislation and keep abreast of all new developments.

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 4 years of general broking experience or equivalent experience in a commercial insurance environment
  • Tier 1 FSRA Compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A strong knowledge of the application of broking principles and the importance of effective project management
  • An analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Higher education diploma or degree is preferred but not vital.

  • Passion for sport – whilst it is not vital that you have sporting experience, it would be looked upon favourably if you have a passion for sport and enjoy professional and community sports.
