About Unify America
Unify America: The Nonpartisan Nonprofit
Unify America is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that is on a mission to replace political fighting with problem solving. The company is aiming to prove that the vast majority of Americans (over 90%!) share many of the same goals for the country. They believe that most political issues are just arguments about tactics or political personalities, and that there is a better approach: deliberation through many possible solutions to achieve a common goal.
The Long Term Quest
Unify America's long term quest is ambitious: bringing together thousands (and someday millions) of Americans to replace political fighting with problem solving. They are building a model for members of a community to come together to learn about and decide how to solve a difficult problem. This process is sometimes called a “citizens’ jury” or “citizens’ assembly,” and many places have used them around the world. They plan to tackle broad, difficult problems through deliberation, bringing in far more citizens than any model has done before.
The First Pilot Citizens' Jury
Unify America is holding its first pilot citizens’ jury in the community of Montrose, Colorado. All sessions will be online, in small groups. They are working with jurisdictions, starting small and growing rapidly, to create an expansive, participatory model of deliberative democracy.
A Remote and Diverse Team
Unify America operates remotely and welcomes candidates from anywhere within the United States. They value having a team from different areas of the country. While the facilitation position is remote, it requires working remotely in Mountain Time (Montrose, CO).
Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Unify America is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at all levels of the organization in all of its forms. This includes a commitment to having a team filled with people at every point on the political spectrum. They are looking for people who are culture “adds,” not culture “fits.”
In summary, Unify America is a nonpartisan nonprofit aiming to bring Americans together to solve problems, rather than fight politically. They're remote, diverse, and committed to creating a culture of inclusion and belonging. They're not just a company, they're a movement, and they're ready for you to join them.
