Qualifications

BILA 501 Methods and Materials in Spanish Wednesdays 7:30-9:30PM This course prepares bilingual teacher candidates to apply research and theory on bilingual language and literacy development to support the language, literacy, and content learning of emergent multilingual students in Spanish bilingual classrooms. Candidates are introduced to the history of bilingual education in California and the goals, opportunities, and challenges of different bilingual program models. They learn how to leverage both languages and create interdisciplinary instruction that integrates content learning and language and literacy development in both Spanish and English. This course is taught primarily in Spanish.

Qualifications:

  • MA degree or higher

  • Prior experience in teaching research methods

  • Prior experience teaching in online modalities highly preferred

3. Seniority rotation above their average up to seven (7) course values.

Candidates must perform all course-related work within the State of California.

Salary: $6,480 - $10,008 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.

If the course is not assigned to a current qualified adjunct faculty member under the process above, it may be assigned to a new hire after the 14 day period for current adjunct faculty members to apply has elapsed.
