About the team

The Security Posture Insights Management (SPOT) team owns the products, systems, and data that we use to accurately assess and represent the security posture at Netflix. Via that consistent, accurate, and easily queryable security posture context, SPOT aims to drive understanding and management of security risk, improve risk-informed decision-making and prioritization, and make sure security engineers have the security posture context they need when they need it.

About the role

SPOT is looking for an experienced full-stack product engineer. This is a highly cross-functional role. You will be working with other teams and stakeholders, including fellow engineers, product managers, security experts, and internal customers.

We deeply believe in a collaborative model of security, and that the best outcomes are driven by a shared understanding of security risk.

Prior security experience is not required, though you should be interested in learning about the security landscape at Netflix and working on security-related products. We are looking for stunning colleagues who enable our mission and support our culture of freedom and responsibility.

You should have

  • Strong full-stack development skills and a history of shaping end-to-end solutions, with a focus on crafting effective UIs
  • Experience extending and leveraging GraphQL APIs
  • Familiarity with overall system design and architecture, and how to progressively improve software

You will succeed in this role if you

  • Believe a diverse and inclusive team is a critical aspect of a sustainable and effective work environment
  • Value a deeply collaborative team
  • Empathize with our customers, with an interest in the overall product lifecycle
  • Effectively communicate complex subjects to our internal customers and partners
  • Enjoy taking full ownership of open-ended problems, from concept to product, including effective management of your own time
  • Care about improving the systems around you, and leaving things better than you found them
