Job Title: Medical Telephone Triage Nurse
Location: Remote (Work from Home)
Wage: $5 USD - $10 USD / hr
Schedule: 20-40 hrs/week
VirtueStaff is seeking a compassionate and skilled Telephone Triage Nurse to join our team. In this remote position, you will be responsible for assessing patients' symptoms over the phone and providing medical advice based on established guidelines. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in communication and are passionate about delivering quality patient care from a distance.
Responsibilities
- Perform telephone assessments for patients seeking medical advice or consultation
- Evaluate symptoms and health concerns, providing appropriate recommendations and guidance
- Educate patients on self-care and health management strategies
- Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain compliance with medical standards, ethical practices, and company policies
- Respond to inquiries from patients and family members with empathy and professionalism
- Stay updated on clinical guidelines and protocols related to triage and patient care
Requirements
- Current and valid nursing license (RN or LPN) in the relevant state
- Proven experience in nursing, particularly in triage or clinical settings
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and current guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide accurate recommendations over the phone
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth technology
- Ability to handle multiple calls and tasks efficiently while ensuring high-quality care
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
