Job Description

Team Carney is seeking a high-performing Technical Editor / Quality Control Analyst to support a Federal Government client program. The ideal candidate must be able to pass a background investigation (Public Trust) and have experience working with Government clients editing instructor-led, asynchronous elearning, and other training-related assets.

This full-time position is 100 percent REMOTE.

Responsibilities
  • Perform copy editing and substantive editing of course materials at key touchpoints in the ADDIE life cycle (for example: analysis reports, storyboards, job aids, evaluation reports, and programmed elearning courses in learning management system).
  • Ensure compliance with the agency-provided Editing style guides.
  • Create issue trackers for reporting and tracking changes needed for elearning and paper-based training materials.
  • Document errors, communicate with team members, and verify the resolution of issues.
  • Manage own workload and timelines.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Review, edit, and format agency content and materials for grammar, spelling, sentence
  • structure, and punctuation and ensure the information is complete, concise, and logically organized.
  • Update and maintain agency-provided Leadership Development Guide.
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers to create/update process documentation and other training- related assets.
  • Perform basic accessibility checks on digital assets.
Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in editing and reviewing a wide range of courseware, documents, and publications.
Preferred to have:
  • One (1) year of experience editing (or writing) U.S. Federal training materials
  • Be familiar with Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 guidance for accessible content.
  • Be comfortable to review assets in a multitude of media.
  • Ability to correct formatting and apply templates when needed.
