The Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) stewards the effective altruism movement, helping people apply evidence, reason, and compassion to solve the world's most pressing problems including global poverty, animal suffering, and existential risks. The organization grows and supports a global community of individuals who rigorously analyze where they can do the most good and take action on those insights. CEA operates major flagship programs including EA Global, an annual conference series attracting over 3,000 attendees across San Francisco, London, and New York; EAGx, a network of community-organized conferences in 26+ countries; and AI Events, which organizes convenings for the AI safety and governance ecosystems. The organization recently merged with EA Funds and is scaling grantmaking capacity, with the EA Animal Welfare Fund raising nearly as much in its first full year as the previous three years combined.
