About Community Economic Defense Project

Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) is a Colorado-based nonprofit founded in 2020 that partners with low-income and working people to build economic and racial equity by confronting economic abuse and investing in community wealth.

The organization uses legal, economic, and advocacy tools to challenge and dismantle unjust systems, with a particular focus on preventing evictions, foreclosures, and homelessness through an integrated services model.

CEDP serves over 1,000 people per month across 54 Colorado counties and has distributed more than $280 million in emergency assistance to more than 68,000 low-income residents.

Beyond housing, the organization has expanded to address disaster response, predatory towing, debt collection, benefit access, and long-term rental assistance. CEDP's model has been recognized as a best practice by the White House, HUD, and the Urban Institute.

Headquarters: Colorado, USA
