The Center for AI Risk Management & Alignment (CARMA) is a fiscally-sponsored project of Social & Environmental Entrepreneurs, Inc. that works to help society navigate complex and potentially catastrophic risks from increasingly powerful AI systems. CARMA's mission is to lower risks to humanity and the biosphere from transformative AI through rigorous analysis, policy frameworks for AGI, technical safety approaches, and fostering global perspectives on durable safety. The organization is building CARMA, an evidentiary infrastructure platform that combines ontologies, knowledge graphs, defeasible argumentation frameworks, and LLM-assisted population pipelines to systematize the case that AGI and ASI pose catastrophic risks. This structured argument content feeds into communication flows reaching policymakers, technical audiences, journalists, and the public to support evidence-based discourse on AI safety.
