The company's mission is to make Africa the first cashless continent by providing accessible financial services with no account fees, instant availability, and widespread acceptance.

Wave launched a mobile app in Senegal in 2017 that enables cash deposits, withdrawals, peer-to-peer payments, and business payments, and has since grown to millions of users across 9 African countries.

The company addresses the critical gap in financial inclusion where over half of Sub-Saharan Africa's population lacks access to traditional banking services.
