We are seeking an experienced German-speaking IT Consultant to support our client in a migration from IBM WebSphere to JBoss. The role will start with an initial 1-2 day meeting in Hamburg to discuss the project scope, followed by fully remote work for the remainder of the 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled consultant to contribute to a critical migration project within a dynamic IT environment.
Tasks
Lead and execute the migration of applications from IBM WebSphere to JBoss.
Assess existing WebSphere infrastructure, define migration strategy, and ensure a seamless transition to JBoss.
Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical recommendations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the migration process.
Document processes, provide training if necessary, and ensure system stability post-migration. Requirements
Fluent German and English skills (spoken and written) are a must.
Strong experience in migrating applications from IBM WebSphere to JBoss.
Proficiency in Linux-based environments, including shell scripting and system administration.
Solid understanding of Java EE applications and their deployment on both WebSphere and JBoss.
Experience with cloud-based solutions and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Benefits
