The opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy as a PMO (Project Management Office) Leader for the Global Product Group (GPG) Insulation and Components Transformers Technology organization. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate the product and technology development project backlog, ensuring alignment with the GPG roadmap and strategic priorities. You will monitor KPIs, ensure data quality across the project portfolio, and participate in the selection, training and coaching of Project Managers while ensuring adherence to Gate Model and providing gate assessments
How you'll make an impact
Coordinate the Product development and Technology development project backlog, ensuring alignment with the GPG roadmap and strategic priorities
Monitor KPIs and ensuring data quality across the project portfolio
Participate in the selection of PM (Project Managers), using project complexity assessments to match PM capabilities with project needs
Deliver training and coaching to local PMs, gate owners, and assessors, in coordination with BU PMO
Ensure all projects use the applicable Gate Model depending on project category and strict adherence to gate regulations.
Lead Gate assessments and assigning assessors from a shared pool of trained R&D PMs
Maintain gate assessment quality by aligning with BU R&D Quality and PMO on training and expecta-tions
Support or even substitute for short period of time PM on projects that are undergoing a critical / disturbed period and need to be set back to good tracks
Collaborate closely with GPG Tech and GPMs to support the definition of the project scope and project management assignment, ensuring all technical and functional requirements are captured before project initiation
Identify synergies across projects within their GPG and propose consolidation or resource optimization opportunities
Coordinate with PMOs in HUBs to understand cross-functional resource bottlenecks and im-prove planning
Operate under defined governance model, working in close alignment with the BU (Business Unit Transformers) PMO leader to ensure consistency across the organization.
Adopt and implement BU processes, templates, and tools while also having the authority to request changes or propose improvements based on GPG-specific needs
Your background
Bachelor's degree or above in project management or engineering technical field
Advanced knowledge of project management obtained through education and relevant professional experience (>5y) in the electrical apparatus business
PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop project teams, combined with excellent communication skills
Strong ability to manage and coordinate tasks, projects and special topics independently, autonomously and under deadline pressure and to present the results to a forum
Exellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Action-oriented and structured mindset
Fluent in written and spoken English
