About the Role:
The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for working closely with the federal sales department and engineering management to help inform, educate and influence partners, resellers and end users of our product offerings. Responsibilities excellent presentation skills and present Veeam messaging to varying numbers and levels of decision makers within DoD. You will be responsible for the creation of content and delivery of demonstrations to support Veeam Federal messaging. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, technically competent Veeam Systems Engineer with an ability to partner with other groups within the sales and support organization to close sales. The role requires strengths and a background in defining architectural strategies to guide customers toward the adoption of Veeam technologies.
Due to business need, candidates need to reside in the DC/MD/VA area
What you’ll do:
Conduct live and virtual customer meeting presentations and demonstrations
Implement and manage POCs to technical closure
Support lead generation activities such as events, webinars, user groups, etc.
Collaborate with the customer/partner to establish and translate business objectives into technical requirements
Independently consult with customer base to provide technical expertise on data protection
Work closely with the sales department to secure new partners and customers
Work closely with Product Management to provide customer feedback
Providing pre-sales support to customers as they evaluate Veeam software
Ability to travel 50 – 75%
What you’ll bring:
Active - Top Secret Clearance
Federal mission/program experience (DoD/IC)
Proficiency in key technologies, including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, AHV, RHV, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platforms (govt cloud) as well as other enterprise applications
Expert knowledge of backup/DR strategies
Expert knowledge of both virtual production and backup storage
NIST 800, STIG, AI Platforms (Varonis/BIG ID)
Knowledge of FedRAMP and ATO process
Demonstrated solution sales and/or technical presales experience preferred
Industry-based experience with experience with data protection technologies
Experience working with monitoring tools and frameworks
Experience in data life-cycle management with IT audit requirements
Federal System Integrators
Ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment; must be a high-energy, motivated self-starter and be able to learn new technologies quickly
Ability to adapt to changes in roles and responsibilities
Excellent time management skills required
Deployment of software solutions into complex environments
Deep level understanding of Veeam and/or similar technologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present to groups Industry relevant professional certifications is desirable

Compensation Transparency
Veeam is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation. For this role, the compensation range below reflects the expected total target compensation (TTC), inclusive of base pay and a competitive performance-based bonus. For roles with a commission plan, the compensation range represents On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary plus variable commission. When determining compensation, Veeam takes into consideration factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic zone. Offers are typically made below the midpoint of the range.
