To strengthen our Learning Center in Salzbergen we are seeking a Technical Trainer (m/f/d) - a technical Instructor for wind service technicians. In this position you will be conducting technical and safety trainings to develop skills sets needed to succeed in their job and work with the right safety mindset.
The GE Learning Center is based in Salzbergen and we expect this person to be in the office in Salzbergen on a daily basis. Join us in driving the energy transition and helping build a greener future.
Job Description
A Day in the Life: Daily Activities:
Deliver pre-developed theoretical and practical training content covering the 1.X, 2.X, 3.X and Cypress turbine platforms
Facilitate classroom sessions, adapting your communication style to suit both entry-level and experienced technician audiences
Lead hands-on practical exercises, ensuring trainees can confidently apply technical knowledge in real-world scenarios
Guide participants through VR-based training modules, providing support and context throughout
Ensure all practical sessions are conducted in line with GE Vernova safety standards
Confirm all participants are equipped with and correctly using the required PPE
Maintain a safe, professional, and focused learning environment at all times
Adapt delivery pace and style based on the experience level and background of each training group
Provide clear technical explanations, bridging the gap between theory and real-world turbine operation
Support participants in troubleshooting and understanding complex electrical and mechanical systems
Document training outcomes, attendance, and participant progress accurately
Work closely with the training team to ensure smooth daily operations at the training center
Occasionally travel to wind farm sites or international locations to deliver training in the field
Liaise with the Lab Technician to ensure the training environment, tools, and equipment are ready for each session
Candidate Profile:
Essential
Qualified Elektrofachkraft - either a certified electrician or electrical engineer
Proven hands-on experience working on GE Vernova onshore wind turbines (1.X, 2.X, 3.X and/or Cypress platforms)
Strong English language skills - both written and spoken
Comfortable working with diverse audiences ranging from beginners to experienced professionals
Highly Desirable
German language skills - given the role is based in Germany, this is a strong advantage
Formal training, teaching, or coaching experience or qualification
Portuguese or Spanish language skills are a plus
Familiarity with VR-based or digital training tools
GWO or equivalent wind industry certifications

Tech-savvy - comfortable using digital tools, VR equipment, and modern training technologies
