Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is looking to fill an opening for a Veterinary Assistant with potential for growth!
Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is an NVA owned & AAHA accredited general practice/dental referral clinic located in Weston, Florida.
A Veterinary Assistant works side-by-side with the doctor to provide care and treatment to patients. A Veterinary Assistant generates treatment plans as recommended by the doctor, presents them to the client and explains the necessity and value of each item recommended. The Vet Assistant also helps maintain the doctor's schedule, handles client communication when the doctor is unavailable, transcribes notes as dictated by the doctor, and assists with executing treatments during the appointment flow.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding client service are essential. Strong reading, writing and math skills are required.
Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed!
Responsibilities
Assist with providing patient care, including administering vaccines, drawing blood, placing catheters, giving nail trims, cleaning ears, etc.
Create treatment plans in Avimark based on the doctor's recommendations and present to the client for financial approval
Collecting specimens and performing basic lab work
Taking x-rays and photographs
Client relations, including outbound calls to clients and face-to-face interaction
Updating patient medical records to reflect care given
Ensure client satisfaction through excellent service
Inform clients about products and services offered
Other duties as requested
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
Flexibility in scheduling, including working until 7pm and weekend availability in a rotating weekend schedule
Ability to maintain a positive attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior clinical experience desired
Prior Avimark experience a plus!
