Keeper Security is hiring a Technical SEO/GEO Developer to join our Product Marketing and Search Optimization team and help improve the technical performance, search visibility and overall quality of Keeper’s global web properties. This is a 100% remote position from select locations, with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the Chicago, IL or El Dorado Hills, CA metro areas.

About the Role
As a Technical SEO/GEO Developer, you will combine hands-on web development expertise with technical SEO knowledge to improve Keeper’s global websites across search visibility, crawlability, site performance and user experience.
You will work closely with Search Optimization, Product Marketing and Engineering to identify technical issues, implement fixes and ensure new and existing web experiences follow SEO best practices. This includes areas such as canonicalization, internationalization, indexing, structured data, redirects, metadata, internal linking and site performance.
You will also continuously audit Keeper’s global web properties to identify issues such as missing translations, incorrect canonical tags, broken links, indexing problems and other technical defects that may impact organic traffic, search performance or conversion.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical SEO audits focused on crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonicalization, JavaScript rendering and Core Web Vitals
- Monitor and improve website health using tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, PageSpeed Insights and analytics platforms
- Identify technical issues that affect organic search performance and work with Development, Design and Marketing teams to resolve them
- Support SEO implementation across WordPress, including metadata, structured data, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, templates and page-level optimizations
- Analyze how Keeper content appears in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI search experiences
- Apply GEO principles to improve content structure, entity clarity, topical authority, internal linking and the likelihood of accurate brand and product representation in AI-generated answers
- Implement SEO and GEO recommendations directly when possible, or provide clear tickets and technical requirements for Development
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot or similar platforms to improve development, technical analysis, debugging, auditing and workflow efficiency
- Use scripts, APIs or automation to streamline audits, reporting, internal linking analysis and recurring SEO workflows
- Support international SEO across Keeper’s localized web experiences, including hreflang implementation, localization coverage and identification of missing or incorrect translations
- Stay current on changes to search engine algorithms, AI search behavior, structured data and technical SEO best practices
- Implement and validate canonical tags, redirects, metadata, structured data and other search-related website elements
- Monitor crawlability and indexability and identify issues involving robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonicalization and search engine directives
- Identify and resolve broken links, duplicate content, redirect chains, orphaned pages and other site architecture issues
- Develop improvements to internal linking and information architecture to strengthen discoverability and search performance
- Validate SEO requirements during website launches, migrations, redesigns and new page development
- Monitor production websites to identify technical regressions or unexpected changes that could affect search performance
- Troubleshoot issues across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, rendering, APIs and content management systems
- Work with analytics and SEO platforms to identify opportunities, measure results and prioritize technical improvements
- Maintain clear documentation of technical SEO standards, development requirements and recurring audit processes
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional web development experience with hands-on technical SEO responsibilities
- Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience developing, maintaining and troubleshooting production websites
- Hands-on experience implementing technical SEO requirements, including canonical tags, redirects, structured data, metadata, XML sitemaps and robots.txt
- Strong understanding of search engine crawling, rendering and indexing behavior
- Experience identifying and resolving duplicate content, canonicalization, redirect and site architecture issues
- Experience with international SEO concepts such as hreflang, localization and multilingual website architecture
- Understanding of website performance, Core Web Vitals and frontend optimization
- Familiarity with modern web frameworks, content management systems and Git-based development workflows
- Experience using technical SEO and web analysis tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb or similar platforms
- Familiarity with web analytics platforms and using data to evaluate website and search performance
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues across both web development and SEO layers
- Ability to work effectively across Product Marketing, Search Optimization and Engineering teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify technical issues across large websites
- Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted development and analysis tools effectively to improve coding, auditing, debugging and documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems, Marketing Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large, global or multilingual websites
- Experience with React, Next.js or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
- Familiarity with server-side rendering, static site generation and JavaScript SEO
- Experience implementing schema.org structured data and validating rich-result eligibility
- Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms
- Familiarity with CDN, caching and website delivery technologies
- Experience automating technical SEO audits or validations using JavaScript, Python or similar scripting languages
- Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimization or website experimentation
- Experience working in SaaS, cybersecurity or another technology-focused environment

7. Retention
We keep your data for 24 months from your last application activity, then delete or anonymize it.
Exceptions:
- You opt into our talent database for further retention by providing consent (extended retention)
- You're hired (transfers to employee records)
