About Beyond Type 1

Beyond Type 1 is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people impacted by diabetes, co-founded in 2015 by Nick Jonas and other diabetes change-makers. The organization serves the largest digital audience of any diabetes nonprofit worldwide, providing support across the diabetes journey from awareness and prevention to diagnosis and daily management. Beyond Type 1's mission focuses on helping people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes survive and thrive through education, community engagement, self-advocacy, and direct funding. The organization works to dismantle stigma and systemic barriers to care domestically and internationally, with particular emphasis on global health equity and engagement in low- and middle-income countries, including programming in India, Africa, Europe, and South America.
