Climate Justice Alliance (CJA) is an alliance of community, frontline, and environmental justice organizations formed in 2013 to unite frontline communities into a formidable force addressing climate change. The organization employs a translocal organizing strategy to build a Just Transition away from extractive systems of production, consumption, and political oppression toward resilient, regenerative, and equitable economies. CJA centers race, gender, and class in solutions and mobilizes multicultural, intergenerational membership from traditionally underrepresented constituencies including Indigenous Peoples, African American, Latinx, Asian Pacific Islander, and low-income white communities located near toxic industries such as oil refineries, coal mines, and power plants.
