The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization founded in 2002 that works to save lives and reduce the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries by partnering with governments and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. Originally established to dramatically reduce the price of life-saving drugs and increase access to medicines for HIV/AIDS, CHAI has expanded its focus to include prevention and treatment of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, malaria, tuberculosis, and hepatitis, as well as non-communicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. The organization also works to accelerate vaccine rollout, reduce maternal and child mortality, combat chronic malnutrition, and increase access to assistive technology. CHAI employs a diverse team across 40 countries and pursues horizontal approaches to strengthen health systems through programs in human resources for health, digital health, and health financin
