Seeking a new career challenge? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring a Regional Team Leader to join our dynamic Buildings Sector for our Project Management Office. This position works closely with the Director of Project Management, Sector Director of Operations (DOO), and Sector Leader and primarily responsible for managing Project Management Team Leaders and assisting them in resolving challenged projects while supporting the DOO with monthly project reviews and market level project reviews globally. This position can accommodate fully remote working arrangements.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
PMO Leadership Team
- Establish and manage project budgets (or direct/teach/support team leaders to establish and manage budgets) for specific project scopes based on appropriate salary grades of employees.
- Assign scopes of services, schedules, and budgets with PMO team leaders, and ensure completeness, timeliness, and quality of deliverables within budget.
- Lead communications, project monitoring, controlling and reporting, quality and risk management, and contract administration for projects as well as mentoring others to elevate others in this area
- Manage Market metrics such as Net Revenue goal, Utilization target, Effective Multiplier, budget dollar variance, and billing/collections.
- Identify relevant additional education and specialized technical skills for the PMO training program to ensure it supports high-quality project deliverables for clients.
- Assist in negotiation of contracts, as needed.
- Work with project managers to understand elements of the project plan, including scope, budget, and schedules, and prepare and deliver cost estimates to project managers when scope or schedule is revised.
- Assign tasks from project plan to team leaders, including scope, budget, and schedule, for execution and ensure team leader understanding of deliverable standards.
People Management:
- Assist discipline lead and/or operations manager in identifying technology, equipment, and human resource needs for effective and efficient discipline operations.
- Work with Human Resources to recruit and select qualified employees.
- Establish employee performance goals, provide regular feedback, and work with employees to achieve individual and discipline goals.
- Conduct regularly scheduled team meetings to discuss resources and technical issues, and to ensure teamwork within and between practice areas and service lines, as necessary.
- Maintain resource allocation tool to determine appropriate employee assignments and make workload decisions regarding hiring and terminations in coordination with the service line director and practice leaders.
- Effectively resolve conflict within a discipline by initiating and facilitating communication.
- Mentor and coach employees within PMO.
Business Development:
- Participate in professional, civic, and business events to establish and enhance Woolpert's presence.
- Communicate and coordinate with practice leaders, project managers, and other disciplines to enhance sales and cross-sell Woolpert services.
Qualifications
- BA/BS and 15 years related experience, MBA/MA/MS and 12 years related experience.
- Current professional registration in Architecture or Engineering.
- Mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
- Demonstrated proactive management approach.
- Above-average verbal and written communication skills for internal and external relationships.
- Leadership skills such as directing, delegating, and coaching.
- Negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
- Above-average facilitation and meeting skills.
- Microsoft Office suite skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate multiple project components, schedules, and budgets.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients, vendors, management, and associates.
- Ability to travel and temporarily work in different locations.
- This position would support full-time in-person, hybrid, or full-time telecommuter working arrangements,
