Job Description

Xenon7 is seeking an experienced Accessibility QA Tester to join a project to ensure designs, software and web applications are compliant with accessibility standards. You will work closely with our development teams to identify and address any accessibility barriers, allowing us to deliver inclusive and user-friendly experiences for all users.

The role is fully remote, as a contractor for a single project.

Your work will directly contribute to creating accessible and inclusive digital experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the creation and execution of test scripts and all required control documentation including defect identification and own the end-to-end defect resolution process
  • Build and execute automation for functional and regression test cases; expanding regression with each release as required
  • Creating accessibility conformance reports (ACRs) from the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)
  • Knowledge of inclusive design and Universal Design for Learning
  • Facilitate cross-product coordination of test management functions, including with vendors
  • Identify accessibility issues and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans and test cases
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement accessibility best practices and guidelines
  • Stay up-to-date with accessibility standards, guidelines, and industry trends
  • Advocate for accessibility within the organization and promote awareness and understanding
  • Provide training and guidance to development teams on accessibility requirements
  • Work closely with users and stakeholders to gather feedback and address accessibility concerns

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Accessibility QA testing
  • Expert knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 and Section 508
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, specifically ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)
  • In-depth knowledge of ARIA and HTML
  • Experience with assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ZoomText)
  • Certification in as many from the following: IAAP, CPAA, CPACC, WAS, CPWA, W3Cx
  • Experience with manual testing methodologies and techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify accessibility issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
