    ABOUT CATF

Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a global nonprofit organisation working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalysing the rapid development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. With 30 years of internationally recognized expertise on climate policy and a fierce commitment to exploring all potential solutions, CATF is a pragmatic, non-ideological advocacy group with the bold ideas needed to address climate change. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.

With staff on four continents and operations on six, the Methane Pollution Prevention (MPP) team is leading the global effort to bend the curve on climate change in our lifetimes by combating the harmful effects of methane pollution, a potent greenhouse gas that is responsible for nearly half of the warming we are experiencing today. Our program includes extensive work in all the major methane sectors: energy, waste, and agriculture. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are seeking a highly motivated Agriculture Manager with strong technical and policy advocacy skills to join our global methane team.

    ROLE

CATF’s agriculture methane theory of change is focused on inducing farmer behavior towards accelerated adoption of methane reducing technologies and practices that sustainability increase productivity. An important component of inducing farmer behavior is economics and adequate policies. The Manager will work on deep dives in market-based mechanisms, national and subnational agricultural policies, performing data gathering and analysis in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners to identify opportunities to act on reducing agriculture methane, particularly from livestock. The work is global, with an initial focus on Latin America.

The Manager will also help further the goals of the agriculture methane work and the MPP program at CATF by staying up to date on the latest technical solutions in the agricultural sector, supporting research and analysis to advocate for sound policies to abate agriculture methane emissions around the world, and representing CATF when engaging with key partners, including forums and conferences.
