We Mean Business Coalition

Job Description

We Mean Business Coalition is a group of nonprofit organizations, working with the world’s most influential businesses to take action on climate change. Together, we catalyze business and policy action to halve emissions by 2030 and accelerate an inclusive transition to a net-zero economy.

This role will be part of the System Transformation team at the We Mean Business Coalition, supporting the execution of the strategic workplan for the Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions (BASCS). The We Mean Business Coalition now serves as the secretariat for BASCS, a diverse coalition of companies, NGOs, and experts committed to unlocking corporate climate finance through voluntary carbon markets, environmental attribute certificates, and beyond value chain mitigation efforts.

We are seeking a highly motivated, early-career climate professional with a passion for climate action and a drive to accelerate corporate climate leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to support a high-growth platform and collaborate with industry leaders. In this role, you will manage a diverse range of responsibilities, from organizing events and developing webinar series to providing essential administrative support, managing membership dues, and assisting with cross-functional projects.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset are essential for success, as you will play a key role in driving our communications efforts and supporting the strategic growth of our platform. This position will report to the Director of BASCS.

About our organization

We Mean Business Coalition is a coalition of 7 non-profit organizations and 50+ partner organizations that unites the voice of thousands of businesses that are taking climate action. We provide a platform for businesses to demonstrate climate leadership through 4As: ambition, action, advocacy and accountability.

We advocate for bold climate policy through international fora (G7, G20, COP and other) and G20 countries to unlock business action within 6 systems: Energy, Transport, Built Environment, Industry, Land and nature, and Finance.

We have a dual role as re-grantor and as strategic partner to the organizations we work with. Working with partners allows us to go deep into international fora, countries and sectors and bring together the critical mass of ambitious companies and partners for maximum impact.

We Mean Business also serves as the Secretariat for the Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions, which has recently completed a strategic refresh and is now poised to drive ambitious corporate climate investments at scale in the coming years.
