It is a very exciting time of growth for our Customer Excellence team, and we are currently hiring an Azure Data Architect to provide technical leadership for the team. This role can be located anywhere in the United States, but we would prefer Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Denver, Phoenix, or Tampa.

What will my role be?

As an Azure Data Architect, you will drive customer initiatives leveraging Azure data, analytics and AI/cognitive services to solve the biggest and most complex data challenges faced by our enterprise customers. This is a technical, customer-facing role accountable for end-to-end customer deployment and usage experience for Azure data services, and you will execute Azure technical customer engagements which will include architectural design sessions, project implementations and/or proofs of concept and pilots.

What will I be doing?

  • Working with architects, sales teams and consultants to review and validate understanding of client requirements and translate initial scope into actionable plans
  • Collaborating with clients on shorter term projects (On-Ramp to Azure Data – ORTAD) to instantiate Azure data platforms, run design sessions, labs, and client workshops
  • Scaling work to accommodate the available funding, yet providing deep value for our clients
  • Working with team, develop next stage work proposals on each ORTAD for continued work for staff augmentation, projects, or via the Velocity program
  • Participating in the creation of high-and low-level designs for areas of expertise as project scope requires
  • Conducting client workshops on Innovation, AI, Copilot, and project-specific technologies.
  • Designing and implement data solutions and service offerings for clients as well as providing feedback for improvement
  • Generating project support documentation, including procedural documents for implemented systems as project scope requires

What’s required?

  • Deep understanding of using data, analytics and cognitive services to solve enterprise data challenges and extensive architecture and design experience with complex applications across various data sources and platforms
  • Highly proficient in distributed computing principals and familiar with key architectures including Lambda and Kappa; extensive experience designing solutions leveraging a diverse assortment of data sources, including CRM, ERP, CMS, PBX, and other technologies
  • Understanding of data governance, creating data dictionaries and how to accelerate a customer’s digital transformation using advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and Big Data
  • Experience developing and managing data quality monitoring and working with data governance councils and stewards, including creating and tracking KPIs and data dictionaries
  • Multiple Azure cloud end-to-end data warehouse implementation and end-to-end data on-premise warehouse implementation
  • Deep understanding of common database technologies, such as SQL Database/Server, Azure Synapse, MySQL, and other data sources, such as Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Blob Storage
  • Proficient in leveraging data, analytics, and cognitive services to address enterprise data challenges
  • Experienced in architecting and designing complex applications spanning diverse data sources and platforms
  • Experience working with MDF frameworks specific to complex data models
  • Experience working with Azure PaaS Services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Functions, Azure Push Notifications, Azure API Management
  • Experience working with Azure Managed DevOps, creating Repos, Pipelines and Quality Gates, and experience with Data Modeling concepts and implementation.
  • Understanding of scripting languages, including R, Python, Scala, and SQL
  • Experience with Automation and Infrastructure as Code concepts using tooling such as ARM Templates, Terraform, Ansible, Bison, etc., and experience manipulating RESTful APIs to programmatically automate manual tasks
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality tools and processes
  • Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flows
  • Previous consulting experience in a customer-facing role and leading project teams through design workshops and pilot environments
  • Experience developing data conversion and testing strategies
  • A credible, professional presence and ability to develop productive customer and team relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills

  • Experience/Understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Copilot
  • Experience with C#, DMX, DAX, MDX, SQL, T-SQL, Java, Scala, SQL, Python, PowerShell, R
  • Experience with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.)
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications related to Data and Analytics
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Engineering
