Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, research, and designs security architecture for IT and Cloud systems.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and security
  • Reviewing current cloud security measures and recommending and implementing enhancement
  • Proven experience with Azure.
  • Security Design and Implementation:

  • Design and implement security controls and threat protection for Azure services.
  • Develop security architectures and frameworks for new and existing Azure projects.
  • Integrate security tools, policies, and procedures into the organization's Azure infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response:

  • Monitor Azure environments for security breaches and vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to and manage security incidents, providing root cause analysis and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Use Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, and other monitoring tools to ensure continuous security.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify security gaps.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation and reports.
  • Automation and Scripting:

  • Automate security processes using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, ARM templates, and other scripting tools.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and provision secure Azure resources.
  • Collaboration and Training:

  • Collaborate with development, operations, and IT teams to ensure secure software development lifecycle practices.
  • Provide training and guidance on Azure security best practices to team members and stakeholders.
  • Engage with third-party security vendors and manage security solutions.
  • Security Best Practices:

  • Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
  • Continuously improve security posture by researching and recommending new security technologies and approaches.
  • Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions within Azure.

Key skills and Qualifications required:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelors in science or engineering with training in cyber security preferred.
  • Proven experience with Azure.
  • A deep understanding of networking, e.g. IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, load balancer, DNS.
  • A deep understanding of configuring security policies and securing applications and data.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud capabilities and products and services for Azure.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud native tools in Azure, e.g. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center.
  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
