The Benefits and Leave Analyst will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of domestic and global benefits, as well as strategic growth projects involving the design and implementation of benefits for new country development, mergers and acquisitions, and other special expansion initiatives. The scope of role includes program stewardship, vendor management, communications, implementation, design, billing reconciliation, and effective collaboration with the appropriate functional areas within the company and external consultants and administrators.

In addition to supporting the benefit process, this role will also be the direct support for the leave administration process and will be responsible for handling formal leave of absence requests. This includes everything from approving or denying leave requests, to tracking leave balances and submitting the appropriate documentation for family and medical leave.

As part of this highly dynamic and intricate global corporation, this role will require a hands-on approach, and the ability to generate new ideas and oversee activities that support both local and international benefit programs.

What will this person do?

  • Drive strategic planning, design, implementation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, communication and administration of our US and global benefits programs to attract and retain top talent. Develop, articulate and implement communication and marketing recommendations for ongoing and new benefit initiatives.
  • Anticipate and effectively manage plan renewals, program changes, implementation of enrollment system requirements, vendor contract management and compliance requirements to ensure that program offerings and delivery efficiently meet the organization's needs.
  • Working with local, regional and global human resources, payroll, legal, finance and other key stakeholders; working flexibly across time zones to achieve business objectives.
  • Assistance in managing third-party relationships and invoicing for global programs, such as consultants, brokers, benefit administrators and carriers.
  • Interpret and advise the People and Culture (PAC) team on changes in benefits that affect coverage and business. Provide training and guidance to the PAC team and ensure consistent and accurate information is maintained within the ADP Benefits Module.
  • Conduct research and interpret benefits plan data to determine market appropriateness, cost efficiency, competitiveness and compliance goals to support the company. Assist in the annual benefits renewal process, including plan design, cost analysis, and employee communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefits records in the HRIS system.
  • Prepare and analyze benefits reports to monitor costs, trends, and employee participation, including supporting the benefit deduction reconciliation process to ensure all missed deductions are recouped from employee.
  • Support the HR team with special projects and initiatives related to employee benefits.
  • Prepare and file required reports such as Form 5500 and other regulatory reports. Prepare and file required reports such as Form 5500, 1095-C, and other regulatory reports to ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain records and documents necessary for audits and compliance.
  • Analyze and report on benefits, costs and trends.
  • Provide data for actuarial valuations and other benefits-related analyses.
  • Prepare and distribute written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits, compensation, and personnel policies.
  • Benchmark plans and monitor emerging benefits trends to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Supports the Leave Administration Process and works with our leave vendor to ensure administration of a LOA is processed and documented accurately, including supporting the calculation of supplemental pay.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training/experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in US Benefits and Leave programs
  • Demonstrated benefits administration experience including knowledge of health and welfare plans, leaves, time off practices, and
  • Experience in working with an enterprise HRIS application, such as ADP Workforce Now
  • Foundational knowledge in Excel and spreadsheet proficiency
  • Extremely detailed oriented with high standards for accuracy and ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate to all employees accurately and professionally
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

As required by applicable pay transparency laws, Lighthouse complies with compensation disclosure requirements for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The salary range for this position may be tailored to be lower or higher in different talent markets.

The expected pay for this role will range from $80,000 to $105,000 per year. This role will be eligible to participate in an annual bonus or incentive program.
