Our Energetic Team:Energy Vault Solutions, a division within Energy Vault, is dedicated to delivering customer-focused energy storage products that merge Battery and Clean Hydrogen technologies. The Energy Vault Solutions team also develops and manages our AI/ML powered software applications that include EMS, Lifecycle Management, and Energy Trading Platforms.
Your Impact as a BESS System Engineer (Senior to Principal):We seek an experienced BESS System Engineer to manage, optimize design and lead engineering activities to ensure successful B-Nest Battery Energy Storage projects. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, project engineers, construction managers, customers, outside vendors, AHJ and consultants. As we rapidly grow and deliver on more projects worldwide, you will help document and build scalable processes, technology, and products.

Your Mission:

  • Be responsible for designing and optimizing B-Nest energy storage systems, including sizing, component selection, design optimization, value engineering, and integration with other project systems.
  • Design of Electrical BOP sub-systems such as DC Collection and cabling with protection and coordination.
  • Design of LV AC cabling, MV Cabling. Familiarity with above-surface cabling and collection systems is desired.
  • Design of ventilation systems with CFD.
  • Design of safety and protection systems including Fire and electrical LOTO.
  • Ensure design compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.
  • Identify gaps in scope & responsibility and work with stakeholders to address them to ensure project success.
  • Apply engineering principles and consult other subject matter experts, as needed, to identify issues & drive solutions on projects.
  • Specify equipment for projects as required, including Transformers, Switchgear, protection solutions, etc.
  • Interface with internal (project managers, project engineers, product engineers, sales team) and external stakeholders (utilities, AHJs, contractors, end customers) to ensure consistent communication.
  • Review project design documents including single line drawings, communication diagrams, layouts, equipment test reports, etc.
  • Support BESS project commissioning.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve internal processes and product.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical or power system engineering) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience of leading project design, preferably in the building of large power stations or PV or other utility-scale power projects
  • 3+ years of BESS project experience, preferred
  • PE certification or equivalent, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30%
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, rapid growth environments
