In 2024, the SI team is sharpening its focus, directing efforts toward two critical areas: 1) Enhanced engagement with law enforcement, and 2) Proactive research on financial crimes in the cryptocurrency sector. To this end, SI has created an entirely new sub-team, Special Projects, focused on long-term proactive research initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support special projects initiatives and regional team operations that focus on cryptocurrency tracing investigations and routine compliance work.
  • Contribute towards the Special Projects team efforts in conducting research projects on ransomware, transnational scamming networks, and darknet markets.
  • Carry out OSINT, account analysis, and on-chain tracing, and as relevant, help deliver trainings and presentations to law enforcement and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide assistance to the regional investigations teams, support their collaboration with law enforcement and external stakeholders, handle escalations from other compliance teams, and aid SI employees in conducting investigations, fostering relationships, and building research knowledge in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated development of related SI skills such as on-chain tracing, OSINT techniques, report writing, public speaking/presentations, or account analysis.

Requirements:

  • Current Bachelors or fresh graduate from accounting, economics, law, or finance or other relevant majors.
  • Prior familiarity with OSINT, law enforcement, cryptocurrency investigations, or other related fields.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to think outside the box and critically.
  • Demonstrated high level of passion and commitment to the company and work being performed and display strong moral and ethical standards, along with high levels of integrity.
  • Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Showcase professional and sound judgment, and maintain solid security awareness.
  • Proficiency in research and writing skills, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of cryptocurrencies and differences between separate blockchains/networks.
  • Familiarity with blockchain analytics and working knowledge of OSINT and due diligence would also be a plus.
