We are looking for a talented and motivated brand designer to join our team at Oportun. You will design brand and product marketing campaigns, create and curate visual assets, design our app stores, print for our stores and other collaterals. You will design how our members interact with their finances, helping them create a path to financial health, and improve their financial lives.


  • Be responsible for creating compelling visuals that resonate with our target audience and support product and marketing.
  • Utilize your critical thinking, communication, and storytelling skills to explain design rationale to teams, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Design solutions throughout the entire design process, from creative conception to production and release.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and deliver campaigns, ads, direct mail, email, prints, internal communications.
  • Follow our brand guidelines to execute high-quality visuals while maintaining brand consistency across all mediums.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, craft engaging visuals and meet deadlines with a high standard of design quality.
  • Anticipate feedback to refine designs and iterate until final approval.


  • 2 to 4 years of experience in brand design, brand and product marketing, visual communication, graphic design or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in B2C companies, design studios or marketing agencies.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects and a keen eye for visual communication.
  • Proficiency in Figma & Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign).
  • Excellent understanding of design principles and design foundations including typography, color, layout, and composition.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A love of working independently, juggling multiple projects at a time, and iterating quickly.
  • Experience with print for direct mail and in store collaterals.
  • Craft new and modifying existing illustrations.
  • Genuine passion for brand design, tons of humility, openness to feedback.
  • Eagerness to get better, along with very good communication skills.
  • Some exposure to advanced skills like animation, motion graphics, copywriting, creating/maintaining brand guidelines and photo editing.
