Salary: $125,000 - 135,000/yearThis position allows for 1-2 days per week remote / work from home. Secret Clearance Required. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Analyst with Scrum Master certification and hands-on experience using Jira to join our software development team. In this role, you will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, gathering and analyzing requirements, defining project scopes, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will also take on Scrum Master responsibilities, facilitating Agile ceremonies, supporting the team, and ensuring the team adheres to Agile best practices to optimize delivery and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear, actionable business requirements for the development team.
  • Collaborate with product owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to prioritize features, functionality, and product backlog.
  • Create detailed user stories, use cases, and process flows, ensuring that requirements are well-defined, feasible, and aligned with business goals.
  • Support the team in analyzing and resolving any ambiguities or gaps in requirements during the development process.
  • Conduct data analysis and provide actionable insights to inform decision-making and improve business processes.
  • Scrum Master Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Scrum Master for an Agile development team, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Help the team stay focused on goals, remove impediments, and promote continuous improvement to increase team productivity and collaboration.
  • Ensure that Agile principles and Scrum best practices are being adhered to, coaching and mentoring team members when necessary.
  • Coordinate with product owners to ensure backlog items are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for sprint planning.
  • Foster a culture of self-organization, accountability, and transparency within the team.
  • Project Tracking and Reporting:
  • Utilize Jira to manage and track project progress, sprint tasks, and issues, ensuring transparency and visibility for all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and deadlines.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, ensuring all parties are informed of project status, risks, and roadblocks.
  • Analyze sprint metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst working on software development projects.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master, with at least 2 years of leading Agile teams and ensuring successful sprint deliveries.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira for project tracking, backlog management, and sprint planning.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their practical application in software development projects.
