We’ve a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Director to join our successful Bid Management team.
We’re looking for a senior expert in the field of business growth to provide leadership and management of our Business Development Function. You'll focus on growth in the organisation, working with Executive Directors across the business to ensure that Business development support and direction is provided in line with Group Strategy and individual Executive Director Business Plans.
This will include the development of strategic and tactical partnerships / relationships with Commissioners, sector bodies (e.g. ERSA, BSA), Subcontractors and other prime providers to support our growth objectives.
Our successful candidate will be a firm decision maker who is confident and self-motivated, organised and resilient. Highly focused with the ability to manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines. Our opportunity comes with a flexible base location and offers remote working but you’ll need to be flexible to travel for meetings nationwide from time to time.
In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £82,000 to £89,000 p.a. plus car allowance with these great benefits:

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Group-wide Pipeline, ensuring new opportunities are assessed in line with the Growth Strategy and communicating new opportunities with Group Executive Board (GEB).
• Support the owner of the Group Strategy in the development of such (where required).
• Support the development and facilitating the implementation of growth plans for each operational Pillar including priority markets, geographies and opportunities.
• Develop a team with the right structure and resource levels to achieve the future business development pipeline requirements.
• Ensure that governance processes are fit for purpose and adhered to across the business in a way that provides assurance but don’t stifle creativity.
• Work with Head of Bid Management to understand internal resource requirements for the opportunity pipeline and organise and manage any external resource required to support such
• Ensure that the pipeline is assessed in line with strategic requirements and qualified appropriately.
• Providing leadership of the team that successful competitive bids are submitted.

Skills and Experience
Essential
- 10+ years’ experience working at a Senior level within an organisation
• Demonstrable track record of securing large bids in multiple markets
• Extensive experience across both private and public sector organisations
• Can demonstrate the ability to develop, long term, senior level relationships with external organisations (Subcontractors, sector bodies, commissioners and other prime providers)
• Previous experience of working with multiple commissioners in both private and public sector
• Successful track record of building effective business development functions
• Knowledge and practice of using commercial modelling techniques to influence business decision making
• Desirable
- Successful track record of identifying, developing and executing sales plans for new product and services.
