Business Development Representative
Virtual Peaker is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) that will help solve the climate crisis by supporting our mission of building the utility of the future.
Job Description
As the BDR you will be responsible for engaging with prospects to qualify potential customers for our Account Executive team. This position is ideal for someone looking to enter a business development or sales role at a rapidly growing B2B startup doing big things.
Role Responsibilities
Develop a working knowledge of the utility industry, including DERs, DERMS, demand response, and decarbonization
Research and identify organizations that align with Virtual Peaker’s ideal customer profile
Plan, execute, and iterate on multi-channel outbound campaigns
Engage and qualify inbound leads and outbound prospects
Effectively partner and work across the Sales and Marketing teams
Support Marketing events through outreach and attendance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within CRM and adjacent tools
Other duties as assigned that contribute to Virtual Peaker’s success Qualifications
An ideal candidate will have some combination of the following:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
2+ years of sales/business development experience preferred Key Knowledge & Skills
Business-to-business communication and prospecting skills
Active listening and relationship building abilities
Research, organizational, and time-management skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Experience using and maintaining a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
Basic understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS) Core Competencies
Desire to build a long-term career in technology sales
Coachability, accountability, and a growth mindset
Curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning
Consultative approach to relationship building

Competitive Salary

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 base salary + commission
