About Finance:
The Finance team is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company. They support management decisions through top-tier accounting, controlling, and procurement processes.
The Controlling team effectively manages EFG's financials, focusing on actuals, forecasts, and budget reporting. Their insights and valued opinions contribute to the leadership team's decision-making process.
As the Team Lead for Business Unit Controller Finance, you will be responsible for leading a team that oversees all financial aspects of the assigned business unit. Your role will encompass financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will provide strategic financial insights to drive business performance and act as a key business partner to various departments, guiding strategic decisions and fostering overall business success.
What you will do:
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial analysts and accountants.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Business partner with senior leaders across various departments, including Operations and Product, to align financial strategies with business objectives.
Financial Management:
- Oversee all financial topics for the projects within the business unit.
- Support and steer the business to achieve its goals.
- Monitor and analyze project financial performance and KPIs, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasting.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prepare budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Compare forecasts against actual performance and provide variance analysis.
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis.
- Present financial results to senior management, highlighting key variances and performance drivers.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Cost Control and Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within projects.
- Implement and monitor cost control measures.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with department heads and other stakeholders to ensure financial alignment with business goals.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to support the business unit goals.
- Foster a strong partnership with operational teams to drive performance and business growth.
Risk Management:
- Assess and manage financial risks associated with projects.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place and adhered to.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors regarding project finances.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA, CPA, or other professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in a business unit or divisional capacity (5-10 years).
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a team.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Passion for gaming is a plus!
