Founded by experienced clinicians and technology leaders, Firefly Health is on a mission to deliver clinical and financial health through joyful, always there care. We are flipping the script on what it means to be a health plan and actually providing a true health benefit to members.

We are intensely focused on optimizing the physical + mental + financial wellbeing of those who want (and deserve) something better than the status quo. If you are ready to roll up your sleeves and take on our audacious mission, we would love to hear from you.

Your Role

As a Care Navigation Associate at Firefly, you are an essential pillar in our commitment to patient-centered care. You play a crucial role in shaping the healthcare experience for our patients, serving as a guide and advocate. Whether assisting with the intricacies of referrals, simplifying the maze of insurance authorizations, or resolving any other healthcare challenges our patients may face, your involvement ensures that their journey is as seamless and stress-free as possible. This role will require an 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Eastern Time schedule.

You will:

  • Facilitate end-to-end referrals by connecting all Firefly patients to the right healthcare providers and services within and outside of Firefly
  • Act as a specialized point of contact for patients when they require referrals or navigation services, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and well-guided through these aspects of their healthcare journey
  • Work closely with our internal healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care
  • Oversee insurance authorizations, prior authorizations and note retrievals to make healthcare access seamless for our patients
  • Develop and maintain solid partnerships with external healthcare networks and providers

Things You Might Be Called Upon to Help With:

  • Maintain a comprehensive database on referral partners, ensuring information is up-to-date for effective patient navigation
  • Provide direct feedback to Network teams based on patient experiences with external healthcare providers, both positive and negative, to influence future partnerships
  • Compile documentation on geographic-specific healthcare networks and preferred partners, serving as a valuable resource for patient care coordination

You’d be a good fit if you:

  • Excel in communication, making complex healthcare information easily understandable for our patients
  • Are highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for balancing multiple responsibilities
  • Possess a strong understanding of healthcare systems and insurance procedures
  • Are passionate about making a tangible difference in patient's lives through superior care and service

Our office is located in Watertown, Massachusetts, but we’ve developed a robust remote working structure to give us more geographical flexibility while hiring for many positions.

This role can be done largely remotely, there are several times a year when staff come together onsite for planning and team building.

Firefly is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We're committed to building and sustaining an inclusive workplace culture where individuals are treated with dignity and respect. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. Firefly is an E-Verify employer.
