Charge Description Master (CDM) Manager
Contract 6+ months | W2 | $80.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Charge Description Master (CDM) Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, integrity, and maintenance of the organization’s CDM. This role ensures accurate charge capture, regulatory compliance, and alignment with coding and billing requirements to support optimal reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of the Charge Description Master (CDM)
Ensure accuracy and compliance with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding standards
Collaborate with departments to review and validate charge capture processes
Conduct routine CDM audits to identify discrepancies, pricing issues, and compliance risks
Coordinate updates related to regulatory changes, payer requirements, and annual code set revisions
Partner with revenue integrity, finance, compliance, and clinical teams
Analyze reimbursement trends and recommend pricing and charge structure improvements
Support system updates and integrations impacting CDM (including Epic)
Provide education and training to department leaders and staff on CDM-related processes Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Finance, or related field (required)
5+ years of experience in revenue integrity, CDM management, or hospital billing
Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
Experience working with healthcare billing systems (Epic strongly preferred)
Familiarity with CMS regulations and payer reimbursement methodologies Preferred Qualifications
Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS
Experience with charge capture optimization and revenue integrity programs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
