Overview

LMI is seeking a Cyber Cloud Engineer with a minimum of a SECRET clearance to support the United States Army in developing next generation command and control capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and secure cloud capabilities in hybrid and commercial cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP; and cybersecurity solutions in an enterprise-level environment.
  • Conduct RMF continuous monitoring for cloud-based web, database, and application services/servers.
  • Provide cloud security engineering support documentation to cyber security projects and programs to include informational and decisional briefs, white papers, architecture and engineering development, acquisition artifacts, and implementation plans.
  • Install, configure, integrate, and train others on security solutions in the cloud.
  • Work closely with the DevOps and system support engineers to provide guidance on security weaknesses in the cloud environment.
  • Review security controls and configuration requirements including secure network design, database access, security testing, authentication methods, implementation of encryption, privilege management, logging, input validation, secure storage design, and secure data transfer.
  • Assist with the development and implementation for cloud security architectures for protecting sensitive data deployed into various cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) and hybrid systems.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing cloud-based system information security standards and procedures.
  • 2+ years experience in a DoD Cyber Security Enterprise Environment.
  • Must be able to work on software development activities in a SIPRNet environment and comply with and implement policy received from the SIPRNet and the Government ISSM IAW AR 25-2.
  • Experience with security control implementation and inherited security controls.
  • Experience with deploying a Relational Database Service (RDS) instance within a cloud environment.
  • Must meet DoD 8570.01 certification requirements for Information Assurance Technology (IAT) Level II.
  • AWS or Azure associate certification.
  • Experience in testing, evaluating, and preparing systems for security certification under NIST and RMF for IS guidance.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity policy, guidance, and training requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity or related field
  • CISSP, CISM, or CCSP certifications
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty Certification
  • HashiCorp Vault certification
  • Experience supporting security in enterprise hybrid clouds.
  • Experience with STIGS and how inheritance works
  • Experience applying STIGS in a cloud environment
  • Understanding of mapping controls to a control family
  • Understanding of managed services provided by cloud services providers such as RDS and EKS
  • Experience with Army technology and/or C2 systems and requirements

For preferred qualifications, consider obtaining a Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, CISSP, CISM, or CCSP certifications, and AWS Certified Security – Specialty Certification. Additionally, experience supporting security in enterprise hybrid clouds and familiarity with STIGs will make you a standout applicant for this position.
