About the role....
The Commercial Business Lead will be accountable for driving success with defined customer and collaborator targets within the Inari go-to-market strategy. This role will also lead customer relationship management for assigned customers/collaborators and assist the commercial business team in refining our offers and strategies. This role will report to the Sr. Director, Commercial Development, and may be based in West Lafayette, Indiana but also willing to accept remote locations.
As Commercial Business Lead, you will…
Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
Lead assigned business development projects to optimize the delivery of Inari goals and objectives
Quickly build strong relationships with key stakeholders to help build and maintain profitable partnerships
Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
Assist in the development and implementation of commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
Conduct market research and analysis to help create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
Collaborate with and coordinate within diverse teams (crop teams, marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
Anticipate obstacles to growth and build strategies to overcome
Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for Commercial
Leadership Team and other senior management team members
You Bring…
- Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- 20+ years of proven business experience in agriculture and related experience in the seed or crop protection industry, with 15+ years of key account management including 10+ years of licensing experience
- 15+ years of experience leading business development projects
- Extensive seed industry contacts
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
- Experience reviewing legal documents is a plus
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes including the ability to build financial business case analyses
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
- A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions.
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning.
- Creative and strategic thinking, willingness to be bold and take risks, and the ability to recognize and learn from failure.
- A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback.
