Job Description

The Community Advisory Turntable facilitates feedback from people connected by a shared passion for music and provides more visibility into what’s happening behind the scenes at Discogs. We aim to support a thriving and engaged community of music fans and record collectors fueled by transparent communication.

Who We’re Looking For

People across Discogs share their voices on this committee. If you want to support the Discogs community, then we want to see your application. You are a passionate music fan and Discogs user ready to advise on the perspectives, priorities, and needs of the community, improve communication about our shared goals and challenges, and provide feedback about our tools and features. As a representative of the Discogs community, you will gather input from other Discogs users and share that information through quarterly meetings online. You will speak openly and constructively, listen carefully, share your expertise, and demonstrate mutual respect, inclusivity, acceptance, and honesty.

Who We Are

Discogs is a platform for music discovery and record collecting empowered by a community of obsessed fans from all over the world. With a comprehensive dynamic discography integrated with a global music marketplace and personalized collection management tools, discover music, connect with community, fuel your collecting journey, and deepen your connection to music.

Requirements

We are seeking active Discogs users who have experience with selling music with us and can share their perspectives on the independent selling community, the challenges and trends of online marketplaces, and using Discogs tools and features.

You will be required to sign a legal agreement that includes but isn’t limited to recording, disparagement, and confidentiality clauses.

Meetings will be held in English and English language proficiency is required to participate.

How to Apply

Tell us about yourself! Submit a short application survey instead of sending in your typical cover letter and resume. All questions must be answered for consideration. Qualified candidates will then be asked to answer more questions about their interest in membership. From there, candidates will be interviewed.

Applicants needing accommodation to apply should contact us at 503-597-6340.

If you apply for the Community Advisory Turntable, you will be required to fill out a few questions regarding your application. Once submitted, our hiring team will review your application and contact you if you are selected for an interview. Whether you are successful or not, we will store your application and data in our system for a maximum period of one year from the application date in case another role becomes available that you are suitable for. If you have any questions or concerns about us storing this data and/or the period of time, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond to you within 30 days.

Benefits

Membership in the Community Advisory Turntable is voluntary. There are no benefits offered for this role. Compensation may be offered for the time spent in meetings.
