POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Engineer V is a senior-level position responsible for contributing to and driving the overall vision and strategy for data engineering within the organization. This role involves mentoring a team of data engineers, collaborating with senior leadership to define data strategy, and ensuring the successful execution of complex data initiatives that align with the company’s goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in the creation and execution of the data engineering strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Leads the architecture, design, and deployment of large-scale data systems and solutions.
  • Drives innovation in data processing and analytics, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of data technology.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to set strategic goals for data utilization and management.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of data governance frameworks.
  • Ensures the scalability, reliability, and security of the data infrastructure.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to the data engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders, including IT, business units, and external partners.
  • Stays abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
  • Represents the organization in industry forums and conferences to promote thought leadership.
  • Develops strategies for data acquisition, integration, and analysis to support business needs.
  • Manages large-scale data initiatives, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership and various departments to align data strategies with business goals.
  • Designs and implements advanced data models, databases, and data pipelines.
  • Identifies and drives process improvements to enhance data reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Oversees the implementation of best practices in data engineering and analytics.
  • Ensures compliance with data governance and data privacy regulations.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains scalable and reliable data processing systems.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop efficient data pipelines.
  • Works with stakeholders including the Executive, Operations, and Revenue Cycle, teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Implements data models and databases to support data storage and manipulation.
  • Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Ensures data quality and integrity by supporting robust data validation and cleansing processes.
  • Works with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in data engineering technologies and best practices.
  • Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.
  • Is reliable, engaged, and provides feedback as to improve processes and policies.
  • Attends all department, team, and company meetings as required.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in data engineering or a comparable role.
  • Extensive experience in data architecture, big data technologies, and cloud platforms.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale data projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and multiple data technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale data projects and cross-functional teams.
