Job Description

Join our remote team as a Data Governance SME in support of DISA, where you can share inventive ways to help federal clients modernize their data practices. You will be key in developing and implementing data governance strategies, policies, and processes.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability within the organization.
  • Assess the relationship and overlap of new data governance controls.
  • Identify key stakeholder groups for each phase of the data life cycle.
  • Support the development and maintenance of data catalogs.
  • Establish data quality standards and monitor adherence to these standards.
  • Perform research to ensure data governance practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop Impact Assessment Reports on new and updated legislation and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on data governance best practices and propose policy ownership.
  • Draft outreach and training materials around data governance.
  • Collaborate with the business to ensure alignment of data governance with overall business goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in fields of data governance and data management
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, data management principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience assessing the impacts of legislation and regulatory requirement changes.
  • Experience with data quality tools and processes.
  • Strong understanding of data classification, encryption, and data protection methods.
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desired Skillset:

  • Experience working with the Federal Government.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience working with Agile Teams utilizing Scrum.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical field of study

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have an active SECRET clearance.
