General Summary:
Elevate is a globally distributed technology firm which develops next-generation financial products focused on managing life’s everyday expenses. The Data Science team conceptualizes, develops, deploys, and maintains predictive models and strategies to drive business decisions for our organization. The Data Scientist I plays a critical role by applying cutting-edge modeling techniques to drive growth, control risk, and ensure operations excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain acquisition and underwriting strategies to drive Elevate’s application traffic based on management recommendations.
- Manage pre-screen mailer campaigns for multiple products, including customer selections using risk and response models, campaign execution, and fulfillment.
- Utilize advanced statistical software such as SAS, R, or Python to develop predictive tools, models, and/or strategies to support business decisions
- Help design and monitor portfolio reports to measure the effectiveness of these strategies and communicate results to senior management and internal business partners.
- Maintain clear, detailed model documentation on our Wiki Server by leveraging reproducible research technologies such as Rmarkdown, IPython, Jupyter Notebook, etc.
- Develop and maintain predictive attributes by leveraging univariate, bivariate and other statistical measurements for the purpose of consumption by analytical teams.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum 4 year degree (Computer Science, Math, or Business Degree). Master’s Degree a plus
- Strong quantitative / statistical modeling capabilities
- Experience with third-party consumer credit data and other large datasets a plus
- Experience extracting and manipulating data using multiple database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.
- Proficiency with at least one statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, etc.
- Superior presentation and communication skills
- Experience within the consumer lending environment a plus, but not required
