Job Description

We’re looking for a Data Warehouse Engineer / Developer to join our young and growing Data Solutions team, which is responsible for Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Data Science initiatives. This team operates with a high degree of autonomy to advance the company’s data strategy. The role involves maintaining and enhancing our data infrastructure, integrating new data sources, and improving processes to support our development into a fully data-driven organization. Your work will be essential as we continue to expand and refine our data capabilities.

Tasks

  • Maintenance: Maintain and optimize our Data Warehouse based on Python, PostgreSQL and GitHub Actions.
  • Integration of New Data Sources: Collaborate with other stakeholders and integrate new data sources into the Data Warehouse.
  • Technological Advancement: Evaluate and implement new technologies that simplify the maintenance and expansion of the Data Warehouse.
  • Process and Methodology Development: Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of methods, structures, and processes within our team on areas such as data quality, documentation, or other critical aspects.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshoot: Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues within ETL processes.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python, SQL, relational databases and data modeling.
  • Willingness to Learn: Enthusiasm for learning technologies, concepts and tools in data engineering and in general.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data processes.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience with managing data warehouses and ETL systems or data intensive applications.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical details clearly.
  • Pragmatic Evaluation: Ability to critically assess new technologies and best practices, recognizing the trade-offs they involve.
  • Familiarity with Version Control: Experience using Git or other version control systems.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with tools for ETL, data orchestration, big data or business intelligence.
  • Experience with data analysis or data science.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of how businesses operate, including the key processes and workflows that drive organizational success. Being able to align data solutions with business objectives.
