Our ambition is to be known as the most impactful, innovative and effective People Team in tech. We seek inspiration in our employee value proposition: Imagine what we’ll build together. We believe that because business and people outcomes are inextricably linked, leaders must be accountable to both. In other words, people outcomes must be Leader Led and People Team enabled. The DEIB team is a small but mighty team that is at the forefront of driving change in Thumbtack. We are developing paths to foster an inclusive workplace and advancing initiatives in people processes and beyond. Here at Thumbtack, DEIB is core to our values.

About the Role

You will be a key member of the Diversity, Equity, inclusion and Belonging team, owning program development and operationalizing initiatives that support Thumbtack’s overall DEIB philosophy. You will deploy strategies that support current efforts to build an inclusive workplace (through talent retention strategies and promoting education and awareness). You will ensure that commitments are met by executing on key deliverables, scheduling key cross-functional planning meetings and managing and tracking project planning milestones.

The PPD team is responsible for enabling Thumbtack to achieve its business goals by fostering high-performing, engaged, inclusive teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement new strategic programs and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and objectives, ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiency throughout.
  • Revamp existing DEI programs to implement strategies that deepen and embed DEI into the People Team's strategic pillars.
  • Evaluate, define and track metrics of success for internal DEI programming and initiatives, conducting assessments on a regular cadence (i.e., on a quarterly basis).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DEI principles into talent retention and development strategies, ensuring smooth implementation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to People Team partners to incorporate DEI insights into initiatives planning and operational management.
  • Support operational effectiveness of the DEIB team through stakeholder management, overall project management and best practices that promote execution.

What you'll need

If you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone excited to join the team.

  • 7+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years of demonstrated experience of launching and working in large-scale programs in HR functions (or people-related verticals)

  • Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to people managers and provide guidance and support to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), executive sponsors and other stakeholders.
