ICF is seeking a Digital Curation Specialist for Child Welfare Information Gateway, a service of the Children’s Bureau (CB), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that centralizes resources for the nation’s child welfare, adoption, and foster care professionals, along with the public.

Position Summary: The Digital Curation Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of digital assets and leading digital content visioning across multiple platforms and teams. The Specialist will collaborate and coordinate with Library and Information Support Services teams, leading digital curation strategic vision, operations, and processes, and ensuring assets meet brand, content/digital guidelines, and industry best practices. They will design and implement tools to move the team forward with use of generative AI and other AI tools to improve efficiency, and provide vision and innovative approaches to align and implement new digital content services and resources across the various libraries (grant recipient library, digital content collection, and hard copy resources). They will lead critical connections and efforts within the Knowledge Management and Capacity Building (KMCB) team and be able to work effectively across teams throughout the project. This position reports to the KMCB Sr. Manager but should be comfortable communicating and collaborating with other team leads, and Senior and Executive leadership, to effectively bridge efforts across the project.

The Specialist will support the creation, implementation and enforcement of guidelines, governance, and best practices. They will conduct platform trainings with new users and stakeholders, and manage Q&A. The Specialist will identify and communicate opportunities for improvement to aid in overall content and metadata lifecycles and work closely with the Data and Evaluation team to maintain data assets and inventories and conduct CQI processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of digital assets, maximize their discovery through metadata and taxonomy governance

  • Handle day-to-day platform settings, e-configuration builds within existing systems

  • Advise and guide team and larger project on responsible and effective use of AI tools to improve efficiencies

  • Assist in creating and maintaining accurate platform procedures and policies

  • Enforce and maintain governance, quality assurance

  • Operate within and adhere to company guidelines and content standards

  • Coordinate with Library team to ensure task alignment, workflow processes, and strategic goals complement and support overall project and client goals

  • Provide user management support, training

  • Stay updated on current and new technologies. Be eager to learn, discuss and share new and relevant topics

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science, or similar degree in a related field and a minimum of at least 1-3 years combined education, training, and relevant experience.

Basic Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, collaborative distributed environment

  • Detailed oriented, focused on quality and efficiency

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in use of generative AI tools in resource collection, curation and information services settings

  • Proficient understanding and ability to communicate and stay current on laws impacting digital libraries including copying, sharing, or distributing of digital content such as books, articles, and multimedia compliance with copyright laws.

  • Understand the digital asset publishing process and able to communicate to stakeholders on status, issues, and resolutions

  • Working knowledge of Ex Libris systems (Alma, Primo VE), and digital asset management (DAM)

  • Proficient with data management, an understanding of taxonomy, metadata standards, and information architecture

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$84,533.00 - $143,706.00Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
