The Director of Biopharma Business Development is responsible for managing and expanding Natera’s oncology pharma services portfolio. The role involves working closely with pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research organizations to foster existing relationships and establish new ones. This position focuses on business development activities in the areas of companion diagnostics and pharma services, driving sales, and developing strategic partnerships to grow Natera's oncology business.
Essential Functions/Main Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead the business development efforts for Natera’s oncology pharma services, focusing on companion diagnostics and pharmaceutical collaborations.
- Oversee the proposal development process, including term sheet generation and negotiations with biopharma partners.
- Act as Natera’s primary representative to external pharmaceutical partners, engaging with all levels of stakeholders, from biomarker teams to executives.
- Drive sales of Natera’s pharmaceutical services through consultative sales activities targeted at key decision-makers.
- Develop in-depth account plans, assess potential opportunities, and align business strategies to customer needs.
- Coordinate with internal teams (scientific, operations, and leadership) to present comprehensive proposals and solutions to partners.
- Ensure consistent customer engagement, monitor satisfaction, and handle follow-ups, including the completion of contractual documents.
- Plan and execute customer engagements, maintaining high visibility within the partner organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, economics, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial, product management, business development, or marketing in a related industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven success in driving large-scale partnering initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptability and flexibility in responding to changing business needs.
- Effective negotiation skills and experience closing complex deals.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally.
- Passionate about oncology, genomics, and personalized medicine.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based, requiring frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily computer use is required, with potential extended periods of standing during meetings.
