The Director, Discount Card Programs is a highly motivated professional responsible for the strategic vision of the Navitus Discount Card line of business. This includes leading the tactical decision-making and operational implementation of setting unit drug pricing for Navitus Discount Card programs, overseeing the Integrated Discount Card product, and interfacing directly with program sponsors, pharmacies, and internal team members. Additionally, the Director is responsible for all Discount Card Program Sponsor client contracting and will assist with Discount Card contracting with pharmacies. The Director will be responsible for performing an array of analyses and creating KPI reports for leadership, as well as specific drug and/or provider price recommendations to facilitate critical business decision-making processes. The Director will lead the team responsible for pricing research of medications available at specific pharmacy providers for unfunded Discount Card programs, daily monitoring of pharmacy contract compliance, implementation of core Discount Card and Integrated Discount Card program enhancements, client onboarding, and overall market research. The Director will serve as the chair of the Discount Card Steering Committee and as the primary decision maker of IT prioritization for the Discount Card line of business within IT Partner Services.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Setting the strategic vision of the Navitus Discount Card Program and aligning the Discount Card Team and IT Partner Services with such strategy.
  • Responsible for providing direction to the Discount Card Team regarding prioritization of tasks, quality of the team’s deliverables, new employee training, and deadline adherence.
  • Lead the Integrated Discount Card product collaborating and working through the Integrated Discount Card Product Manager.
  • Advise, collaborate, initiate, and oversee project success of the Navitus Discount Card IT Team.
  • Make decisions on Discount Card pricing.
  • Lead the Navitus Discount Card Analyst responsible for:
    • Daily monitoring of market prices on discount card websites.
    • Preparing daily comparison of Navitus pricing vs Navitus PBM competition.
    • Daily monitoring of key pharmacy chain generic discount contractual requirements.
    • Adjusting pharmacy specific prices as needed to comply with generic discount contract requirements.
    • Monitoring pharmacy usual and customary prices. Comparing such prices to adjudicated claims in Discount Card programs and funded sponsor programs to confirm consistency across programs and with pharmacy’s published prices.
  • Make go, no go decisions on Discount Card Program Sponsor client prospects.
  • Serve as the point person for Navitus Finance Discount Card revenue budgeting and monitor trends to inform management of program forecasting.
  • Lead the Discount Card Program Manager responsible for effectuating the update of prices in all systems required to manage, maintain, and adjudicate claims for Discount Card Program Sponsors.
  • Work with Navitus Discount Card Program managers and individuals responsible for Program operations to minimize or mitigate issues with card users and with pharmacy providers.

  • Minimum of three years of Discount Card market experience.
