We are looking for a Director of Earned & Owned Strategy to lead enterprise-level organic growth initiatives across a portfolio of brands, with a strong focus on local strategy and multi-location businesses. Reporting to the Senior Director, Earned & Owned Strategy, this individual contributor role will oversee integrated Earned & Owned programs spanning SEO, Content Marketing, and broader strategic initiatives designed to strengthen discoverability, drive measurable business growth, and evolve client visibility within AI-driven search environments.
Leading Enterprise Client Strategy & Growth
Acting as the executive strategic lead on key accounts, accountable for client success
Developing integrated earned strategy plans that combine SEO, Local SEO, Content Marketing, AI Search, and Digital Experience, while providing strategic direction to channel managers
Translating complex business objectives into actionable roadmaps that drive measurable performance outcomes
Leading local strategy initiatives, including local discoverability, GBP optimization strategy, and localized content frameworks
Driving AI-Era Search Leadership
Overseeing strategic frameworks for AI Search readiness, ensuring content and technical foundations are optimized for emerging search experiences
Integrating AI-driven insights into forecasting, prioritization, and creative planning across Earned channels
Collaborating Across Teams
Partnering with client and internal channel and analytics teams to enhance operational workflows and reporting automation
Leading cross-functional planning across key content activations
Providing executive-level oversight of campaign ideation, launch, and measurement to maintain excellence in execution
Accelerating Growth
Identifying and capturing new organic growth opportunities across search and local search ecosystems
Supporting business development through executive-level presentations, thought leadership, strategic consulting, and expansion opportunities across existing and prospective accounts
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Earned & Owned Media programs across SEO, Content, Local SEO, or adjacent digital channels in an agency client-facing role (preferred) and/or brand-side organization
Experience managing integrated digital marketing campaigns that leverage cross-channel insights and collaboration
Working experience with Web Analytics and SEMRush or similar SEO platforms
Proven success managing large-scale, enterprise search and content transformation initiatives
Deep understanding of AI Search evolution and organic discoverability trends
Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to identify, prioritize, and respond to situations rapidly
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to unify teams across channels
Exceptional presentation and executive communication skills; confident advising senior client leadership
Salary: $118,000 – $130,000 annually (based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and market factors)
