We are looking for a hands-on experienced technical leader to head our platform and infrastructure teams. The role will lead platform, infrastructure, and site reliability teams while laying the foundation for Glassdoor engineering excellence.

Our Platform engineering teams work horizontally to solve for network, security, reliability, deployment efficiency, and support AWS cloud and infrastructure management. These teams build the backbone of Glassdoor engineering, ensuring we all operate as a high-functioning team of engineers. We are starting to invest heavily in Kubernetes and containerization technologies. As Director, Platform & Infrastructure, you will set the vision and plan roadmaps for your teams, as well as help us adopt new technologies to build a best-in-class platform and infrastructure powering our site and engineering systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set the vision and define the long-term strategy to build a high-performance platform and efficient deployment infrastructure to power all Glassdoor products
  • Ensure scalability, availability and performance of large scale systems to deliver on key business metrics
  • Provide technical leadership to your team by giving guidance on system design and technical standards
  • Define standards and best practices for managing our infrastructure
  • Lead and grow teams of platform and infrastructure engineers, who will solve core engineering problems impacting all engineering teams at Glassdoor
  • Drive improved Developer Experience across all Glassdoor Engineering teams
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define security and privacy vision
  • Hire, mentor, and grow your leaders in service of highly functional and effective teams
  • Guide the leadership team on setting company-wide goals that inform and support our strategy

What You’ll Bring:

  • A commitment to add to our culture of DEI
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in platform and infrastructure space with 5+ years of experience in managing multiple engineering teams
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS cloud management and managing large web-scale, high volume sites is required
  • Deep understanding of modern software development practices including high availability, CI/CD pipelines, AWS cloud infrastructure, containerization, CDN’s, etc
  • Experience leading or working in a devops environment where engineers go on-call
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, building strategy while executing tactics, including hands-on contributions
  • Proven track record of collaboration with a variety of decision-makers to drive impact

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary Range*: $230,400.00 - $345,600**.00****++**

*Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.

Annual Bonus Target**: 20%

**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance reviews

***Restricted Stock Units (RSU) are awarded at hire and may be refreshed annually. Additionally, as a pay-for-performance company, RSU grant awards are presented bi-annually to exceptional performers.
