Position Overview:
The Director of Development will develop and execute M2D’s fundraising strategy to secure sustainable funding that fuels our mentorship and leadership programs, as well as organizational growth. This role will set annual fundraising goals, cultivate donor and partner relationships, lead grant writing, oversee fundraising events, and manage development operations, including donor stewardship, database management, and impact reporting. The Director will also represent M2D externally and collaborate with internal teams to advance fundraising efforts. As part of our dynamic and mission-driven team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization and advancing our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Fundraising
Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy
Set and achieve annual fundraising goals
Create compelling grant proposals and reports
Manage donor relationships and stewardship programs
Organize fundraising events and campaigns
Development Operations
Oversee donor database management
Track and analyze fundraising metrics
Manage development budget
Coordinate with program teams for impact reporting
Supervise development staff and volunteers
External Relations
Build relationships with foundations and corporate donors
Represent M2D at networking events
Collaborate with marketing team on donor communications
Develop fundraising materials and presentations
Qualifications and Skills:
7+ years nonprofit fundraising experience
Proven success in major gifts and grant acquisition
Experience with donor management systems
Strong writing and presentation skills
Bachelor's degree required
Deep understanding of women's empowerment initiatives
Commitment:
Serve at the organization for 1 year.
Ability to meet and collaborate weekly via Zoom, Google Drive, Microsoft and Slack with the team.
Ability to attend monthly Team All Hands via Zoom.
Approximate time commitment: 10-15 hours monthly
